Apabi is a large ebook library comprising book titles published in the Mainland. The Hong Kong Public Libraries has acquired a collection of about 50,000 items for reference use by our library cardholders. The ebook collection consists of two parts - "Sports & Fitness" and "Books on various subjects". The latter covers philosophy, social sciences, literature, arts, history, geography, natural science, medical and health etc.

The Collection comprises over 400 Chinese eBook titles published by the Taiwan Vista Publishing Co., Ltd. The database includes mainly the Chinese and Western literature. Some of the publications from contemporary prominent Chinese writers, such as Mr LAM Hang Tsz, Mr LIN Yutang, are included.

It is an online collection of classic audiobook materials, largely on literary classics and educational themes. The collection covers more than 410 titles on classic novels, plays and poetry from medieval times to the 20th century. The full text of many titles can be followed on screen as it is being read. Whilst listening, users can also access informative notes about the work and the recording.

User education sessions on how to use our e-Book lending service are regularly organized at Hong Kong Central Library. Readers are welcome to attend the sessions to know more about the e-Book service.
